Starting a new job is most probably one of the most nerve racking experience's I could go through... Up there with bungee jumping, or... having to hold a tarantula (As you can tell I struggled to find nerve racking experiences) And so, when I started my new job at Heathrow Terminal 4, 3 weeks ago, I can't say I was the most relaxed I've ever been.
I just despise being the newbie. Having people stare at you, struggling to join in on the conversation because you have no idea what they're talking about, having to introduce yourself 50 million times! And just not knowing the general protocol.
Well, you'll be pleased to know I survived, maybe with a few bumps and scrapes along the way, but I am now in my 3rd week and am enjoying it. I still hate that work feeling, but have kind of realized that everyone has that, and they just have to deal with it, because they need to pay the bills! I still have to introduce myself, but to not as many people. I still struggle to join in on the conversations, but I'm now comfortable remaining silent.
And I have met some wonderful people (and some terribly rude people who I can't seem to get my head around) So maybe this summer (not so) break will be okay this year, and I know it'll all be worth it when I get that fat pay cheque in the post!

The Tale of my Macbook.
So, I recently suffered a loss that, I'm sure you'd understand, was terribly devastating and made me contemplate what I actually do in life during my free time... This tragedy was the loss of my Macbook. Yes, feel free to cry, gasp or shout "No!" because it was like a part of me went missing.
So, as other blogger's would understand, what the hell do you do without your laptop?!
Well, thankfully I have a 800 page book to read in the next 2 weeks, so I cracked on with that! And can I just say a thank you to Hayley Jane Goodman for buying Grand Theft Auto, San Andreas... that also has been my antidote to boredom. And it did take me back to my childhood.. yes I played it when I was under 18... blame my brother.
So this occupied me for the worst 5 days of my life, until today.. when I got my lovely Macbook back!! YAY!! .... Just shows you how much we rely on technology nowadays, doesn't it?
The only bad thing is now I don't have an excuse for not doing my uni work!

Keeping up Appearances.
So, I do wonder sometimes why we girls go through so much just to look good.
I mean, take today for instance, I woke up, had a shower, shaved, exfoliated and washed my hair... I then moisturized all over, dried and straightened my hair. Now comes the make up, and then add the nail polish, and I think I'm ready. I mean, wow, that's an hour and half of my day gone. And what am I doing today? Sitting inside.
Why do we care so much about our appearance?
Well, I blame the media, showing us these pictures of super skinny, tanned and just all over amazing goddesses of celebrities. Who, of course, have people who dress them, hair stylists, personal trainers.. and basically who don't have to lift up a finger.
And I also blame Summer... Don't get me wrong.. I love summer!!! But now the suns out I actually have to start caring about what my legs look like! Damn.
So I can complain all I want about how the media shows a bad representation of women, how we should just be happy as we are and not care what people think... but I still fall sucker to vanity, and go through everything to try and look like the women in the glossy magazines... and one day I will, if it's the last thing I do!
Oh vanity, how you plague the world! :)

It's been a while.
Don't get me wrong, I do love writing on here. It's just I feel like I have nothing to say to the world. Tad sad, I know. Hmm, my life recently...
Well I'm home for Easter. Go back to uni in 6 days. Not looking forward to it, particularly as I have a lot of work that needs to be in, and haven't put much effort into starting it yet. Am looking forward to seeing everyone I've missed though. I don't know what it's going to be like in the Summer, I'm going to miss everyone too much.
Since applying to Heathrow Airport, I now have a job over the summer, which is excellent, as I need all the money I can get. And it's not in crappy retail, even bigger bonus. However, it does mean I have to leave university early as I start in June. Doesn't really matter as all the assignments will be finished, just sucks leaving before everyone else.
I now have my nose and tragus pierced. Hurt like hell, but I like. Now have to keep cleaning them, as I don't really fancy getting an infection, especially on my face.
I have rediscovered Twitter, which I am now addicted too. Add me if you wish. lottiemac1990
And oh, yes. Shopping in Oxford Street on Wed. Ahh, the highlight of my holidays.
Much love. X
Oh, and the weather forecast during the past few days has been sun, sun, sun, which puts a great big smile on my face.

"Still, I think he's rather tasty!!"
Just been checking up on subliminal messages in Disney movies.
Gosh, my childhood was a sham. Can't one thing in life just be 100% innocent?
What is this world coming too!
On a lighter note... is it wrong to be in love with a cartoon?
Oh, Aladdin!

Hayley Goodman
Okay, so after suffering from a bout of writers block, my housemate and friend Hayley Goodman has given me an idea of what to write about.... herself.
We met on that fine day of September 13th 2009, and since then have gotten closer and closer, in a friends only way, of course (although she did once declare her love for me if she had been a lesbian... but that's another story) We share the same interests in novels, music, movies, television shows and vampires... a certain Eric to be precise ;) And yes, she can talk for England.. but to be honest, that is pretty impressive!
(May I add, just as I am writing, this Hayley just broke the silence with a clearly defined burp, you gotta love her!)
She has her quirks, and can always make me laugh with her dry sense of humour. I can just sit and listen to her all day long quoting every season of Family Guy.... how can you do that?!?! And I must say, I had a very good night with her last night, watching Disney movies and sniffing chocolate.. who knew it could get you high!
So as she is munching away on her domino's pizza and telling herself how good it is, I just want to let you know, Hayley Goodman is one of a kind, and I love her very much!
Me and Hayley staring in Barbie's The Princess and the Pauper... coming to a cinema near you.

Happy Mothers Day
It's times like these I especially miss being at home.
My mother is one of a kind. She's always looked after me, been there for me, never judge me or my decisions. Accepted me for who I am. She is my best friend... and an amazing cook, which always helps.
She'd go out of her way to help me with absolutely anything. She deserves the best because she is the best. And I love her very much.

Am kind of bored of Weston at the moment, I'm going out too much, spending too much. I want to be at home with my family. With my dogs. It truly is the little things in life that make it great.
Anyways, enough of the soppy post.
Until next time.
